Hisao Inoue was born in 1964, and he joined NEC Corporation after graduating from Kyushu University. In 1992, he moved to Asahi Shimbun, where he worked mainly in the Economics Department, covering automobiles and electronics. In 2004 he left Asahi Shimbun to become a freelance economic journalist. In 2005, he completed a master's degree in venture theory at Osaka City University. He continues to cover companies, particularly in the auto industry, and economic security. His major works include, “Nissan vs, Ghosn: the 20-Year Secret Struggle for Control” (Bunshun Shinsho), “The Day Auto Companies Disappear” (Bunshun Shinsho), and “The Invisible Invasion from China! Cyber Espionage Is Toppling Japan” (Business-sha).
