Tomohiko Sano & Virginia Martin Heriz

Tomohiko Sano joined J.P. Morgan’s Equity Research Department in 2015, covering major Japanese machinery companies. He became Co-head of Japan Equity Research in 2022. He joined J.P. Morgan from Barclays, where he covered Machinery, Construction & Engineering sectors. Prior to Barclays, he was with Lehman Brothers’ Equity Sales Division, after graduating from Chuo University in 2008. Leveraging his experience as an analyst, he has expanded his role as Head of Japan ESG & Sustainability in 2021. Institutional Investor ranked his team 1st in Machinery in 2020. He is a Certified Member of The Securities Analyst Association of Japan. He has earned a Certificate of CFA Investing in ESG.

 

Virginia Martin Heriz is the Global Head of ESG Research Methodology and Integration. Prior to her current role Virginia co-managed the JP Morgan Global Macro, Global Macro Opportunities and Global Macro Sustainable funds. Before joining J.P. Morgan Virginia was a portfolio manager at Aberdeen Standard Investments where she was responsible for managing tactical asset allocation portfolios and segregated multi asset mandates. Before she had a number of roles as financials equity analyst in the buy side and the sell side. Virginia has several scientific publications and a patent resulting from her work in academia and semiconductors prior to the global financial crisis. She has a Diplôme d'Ingénieur from Télécom Paris and a Masters in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
