主語が明確な表現を心がけよう

　以下、伝わりにくい表現（A）と、人を主語にしてわかりやすい表現（B）です。（B）の表現ができるように心がけましょう。

　この夏は暑くなりそうです。
　（A）This summer will be hot.
　（B）We will have a hot summer.

　今日は仕事でいろいろ問題がありました。
　（A）There were many problems at work today.
　（B）We had many problems at work today.

　東京の地下鉄は便利です。
　（A）It’very convenient for us to use subways in Tokyo.
　（B）We have very convenient subways in Tokyo.

　プロ野球観戦は日本人にとても人気です。
　（A）It’s quite popular for Japanese people to watch professional baseball games.
　（B）Japanese people love watching professional baseball games.

　横浜には中華料理店がたくさんあります。
　（A）There are many Chinese restaurants in Yokohama.
　（B）They have many Chinese restaurants in Yokohama.

　今週末は雑用が多いです。
　（A）There are many chores this weekend.
　（B）I have many chores this weekend.
　chore(s)＝雑用、家事（複数形で使われることが多い）

　私の趣味は水泳です。
　（A）My hobby is swimming.
　（B）I like swimming.

　私はハイキングが好きです。
　（A）Hiking is one of my favorite activities.
　（B）I love hiking.

　京都を訪ねるのは楽しいですよ。
　（A）It will be nice if you could visit Kyoto.
　（B）You will enjoy visiting Kyoto.

　たくさんの花がきれいでした。
　（A）It was beautiful with a lot of flowers.
　（B）We saw beautiful flowers a lot.

　このIT企業を経営しています。
　（A）This IT company was founded by me.
　（B）I run this IT company.

　オフィスには10人のエンジニアがいます。
　（A）There are ten engineers in our office.
　（B）We have ten engineers in our office.

　10年前にこの会社に入社しました。
　（A）It’s been ten years since I joined this company.
　（B）I joined this company ten years ago.

　膝が痛いです。
　（A）There is something wrong with my knees.
　（B）I have a pain in my knees.
